Haryana To Get First Shri Krishna Ayush University at cost of Rs 500 crore

Chandigarh: The construction work of the country's first Shri Krishna Ayush University will start soon. In a meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, it has been decided to appoint an Executive Agency for the construction of the building of the University at a cost of Rs 500 crore.
This agency will undertake planning, design, construction work, furniture, equipment, information technology arrangement, and maintenance for the University.

AYUSH Director-General Dr. Saket Kumar apprised about the action plan of the University during the meeting of the High-Level Committee constituted by the Haryana Government.
It was appraised in the meeting that the university is to be built on about 102 acres of land, in which post-graduation in all medical systems under AYUSH -- Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy will be imparted.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier published that Ministry of Ayush has signed the Host Country Agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) for establishing WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in India at Jamnagar, Gujarat, with its interim office at the Institute of Training and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) in Gujarat. This Centre will be supported by an investment of about USD 250 million from the Government of India.
The primary objective of GCTM is to harness the potential of traditional medicine from across the world through modern science and technology and improve the overall health of the communities the world over.
The Agreement was signed on 25th March in Geneva by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush and Director General, WHO Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. Last month, the Union Cabinet had approved the establishment of the Centre.
