Delhi Govt to expand Homoeopathy services, pushes for AYUSH Integration

Expansion of Homoeopathy
New Delhi: The Delhi government is working to strengthen homoeopathy services and integrate AYUSH systems into mainstream healthcare, Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said during a programme marking World Homoeopathy Day 2026 in New Delhi.
The event, held at the NDMC Convention Centre, commemorated the 271st birth anniversary of Samuel Hahnemann and featured a scientific seminar themed “Homoeopathy in the Era of Integrative Medicine: Bridging Traditions, Advancing Health.” It was jointly organised by the Delhi State AYUSH Society and the Directorate of AYUSH, marking their first such collaboration.
Addressing the gathering, Singh said, "Homoeopathy has immense potential in addressing today's healthcare challenges, especially in stress management and chronic conditions. The Delhi Government is committed to strengthening AYUSH infrastructure and ensuring its effective integration with mainstream healthcare", reports PTI.
According to official data, more than 120 homoeopathic dispensaries are operational across Delhi, providing free consultation and medicines to nearly 19 lakh patients annually. The minister said this reflects growing public trust in the system.

The minister also announced plans to expand services by opening new polyclinics, addressing staff shortages, and improving access in underserved areas. He highlighted the Integrated AYUSH Stress Management Public Health Programme under the “Manas Swasthya” initiative, which focuses on treating psychosomatic disorders through a combined approach involving Ayurveda, Yoga, and homoeopathy.
Emphasising integrative care, the minister advocated a co-location model that enables patients to access AYUSH and allopathic treatments under one roof. The event was attended by officials and experts from organisations including the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), New Delhi Municipal Council, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, and the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy.
IEC materials on homoeopathy’s role in managing musculoskeletal disorders were released, and several practitioners, including Padma Shri awardees, VK Gupta, Anil Kumari Malhotra and Kalyan Banerjee. The government said it will continue to focus on expanding access, strengthening infrastructure, and promoting research in AYUSH systems.
