Bihar medicos create security squad against assault

Muzzafarpur: Assault on Doctors  has become a perennial feature and various representations of Doctors to State Governments and Central Government have not yielded any tangible result. In response to the growing assaults, doctors of Muzzafarpur who are running Private clinics and Hospitals have now engaged a contingent of security personnel for their safety in any eventuality of assault  during treatment of patients. This group of security workforce includes 40 retired armed force individuals. In case of any news of potentially violent situation purported by any antisocial elements this security squad will immediately reach the spot.

This security squad was constituted recently by senior physicians and local office bearers of IMA , local branch including Dr. Brijmohan and Dr. Kamlesh Tiwari as reported by Dainik Jagran. The doctors pointed out that when government did not take any action despite repeated  demands of  doctors for  provision of security to them, they were forced to take this action by raising funds.

As of now 60 doctors have contributed towards  this security project for safety of their lives and property. Local IMA leader, Dr. Sanjay Kumar,  who is spearheading this campaign said that initially only 40 guards have been included in this special squad. These guards will be armed with lathis as well as other arms. Out of 40 security persons who have been engaged, 20 will perform Day duty and 20 shall remain on night duty. These guards will be available for all the areas of city like Juran Chhapra, Kalambagh and Brahampura on rotation basis .The inauguration ceremony was attended by eminent doctors of Muzzafarpur including Dr. Ramgopal Jain & Dr.B.K.Sharma
