Chandigarh: Forensic Medicine doctor, constable in bribery case
Chandigarh: State Vigilance Bureau arrested a Doctor and Head constable for accepting bribe.
Disclosing this here an official spokesman for the Vigilance Bureau said Doctor Charan Kamal, Junior Resident posted at Civil Hospital-cum-Medical College, Patiala and Constable Baljinder Singh posted as PS Pasiana, Patiala were arrested in a bribery case.
The complaint of Madan Singh of village Kalar Bhaini, Patiala district has approached the VB and alleged that the accused constable was demanding Rs 50000 for helping him in a criminal case registered against him and the deal was struck at Rs 30000. It may be mentioned here that the accused constable had already fixed another deal with the accused forensic medicine expert doctor for sharing half of the bribe to help the complainant in this case.
After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused constable arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs 25000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the above said accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigations were under progress.
