NEET SS Counselling 2025: Over 6,500 Seats Available in Round Two
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has recently released the seat matrix for the 2nd round of counselling for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) for the academic year 2025.
This seat matrix includes newly added seats, vacant seats, and virtual vacant seats for participating candidates.
According to the official NEET SS Seat Matrix 2025, a total of 6,591 seats are available for Round 2. Of these, 133 seats have been newly added, 1,858 seats are clearly vacant, and 4,600 seats are virtually vacant.

3,000 Doctors Under Scrutiny in Chhattisgarh Over Alleged Fake FMGE Certificates
A suspected fake Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) certificate scam has come under the scanner as the certificates of over 3000 foreign-trained doctors in Chhattisgarh who obtained their MBBS degrees from countries in Central and East Asia are going to be investigated by the Chhattisgarh Medical Council with the support of the National Medical Commission and the state Directorate of Medical Education.
The investigation has been called after the authorities detected alleged irregularities in their qualifications and in the clearance of the Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) examination.
The FMGE, conducted by the National Board of Examinations, is a mandatory screening test for Indian students who complete their MBBS abroad and want to practice in India.

NMC Probes LNJP MCh, DM Admissions Row; Centre Details Transfer, Oversight Measures in Parliament
Regarding the alleged irregular admissions to MCh Neurosurgery and DM Neuro Anaesthesia courses at Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP), the Union Minister of State for Health recently informed the parliament that the National Medical Commission (NMC) has examined the issue.
MoS Health Anupriya Patel further informed the Lok Sabha that four affected students admitted for the academic session 2024-27, whose admissions were declared void ab initio, have been transferred from Lok Nayak Hospital to Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (GIPMER), New Delhi, to safeguard their academic interests and future.

Ayushman Bharat Records Over 11.69 Crore Hospital Admissions, Says MoS Health
Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare informed the Lok Sabha, as of February 28, that a total of 11.69 crore hospital admissions have been approved under the Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). Of these, 6.74 crore admissions took place in private hospitals.
Responding to a question, Shri Prataprao Jadhav stated that strict guidelines are in place to ensure that hospitals provide treatment to beneficiaries without any denial. However, the number of hospitals empanelled under this scheme has increased rapidly over the past few years.
