Chandigarh: PGI Director tenure comes to an end
Chandigarh: The directorship tenure of Professor Yogesh Chawla at PGI Chandigarg has come to an end, with the doctor now joining as the HOD Hepatology department at the institute. The dean of the medical institute, Dr Subhash Verma will be taking the charge of his duties till the appointment of a new director.
Dr. Chawla, who is still to attain the age of retirement 65, has now decided to head the Hepatology department till he superannuates.
A committee has been formed for the recruitment of new PGI Chief . A PGI official said, “As per the norms, the senior-most faculty member of the institute is given the officiating charge in case a new chief is yet to be finalized.”
