Kolkata: Issuing new guidelines for framing duty rosters of faculty in medical colleges, the West Bengal Health Department has restricted government doctors from doing private practice during duty hours. The State has also made it clear that faculties should remain present in key departments such as the central laboratory, and radiology department even after regular working hours.

According to a recent Indian Express report, in this regard, the State Health Department issued specific guidelines to the doctors on January 03, 2025, and mentioned that it would be mandatory for all the faculties to work 42 hours a week.

Rajasthan MBBS Doctors Demand Immediate Release of Medical Officer Recruitment Exam dates, threaten Protest

Jaipur: Demanding an immediate release of the Medical Officer (MO) Recruitment 2024 exam dates, the doctors in Rajasthan under the Rajasthan MBBS Doctors have issued a stern ultimatum to the authorities.

Submitting their representation to the Registrar of the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), the All Rajasthan MBBS Doctors Association has warned that if their demands were not met by January 7, the doctors would commence a mass protest in Jaipur.

MP Shocker: MBBS medico accuses Senior doctor of sexual assault, doctor absconding

Gwalior: In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old final-year MBBS student who had travelled from Datia to Gwalior's Medical College to give her supplementary examination has accused a senior doctor of allegedly sexually assaulting her in the boy's hostel.

As per a Free Press Journal news report, the student alleged that she was threatened when she attempted to resist and tried to call for help. She stated that the senior doctor summoned her to the boys' hostel under the pretext of some work. Following his instructions, she went to the hostel, where the doctor reportedly locked the door and sexually assaulted her.

MBBS Admission Fraud: 14 including 2 cops booked for embezzling Rs 17 Lakh from Aspirant

Bhadohi: Promising an MBBS seat at Motilal Nehru Medical College in Prayahraj, Fourteen individuals, including two police constables, have been booked for allegedly duping a medical aspirant and his father of Rs 17 lakh.

It is reported that an FIR was registered following a court order as the police previously did not take action and refused to register the case. After submitting a petition in court on February 14, 2023, Judicial Magistrate Kamlesh Kumar ordered the registration of the case on January 3, 2025.
