Delhi LG Suspends Health Director, Latter Calls it 'Arbitrary'
New Delhi: The Lt Governor of Delhi, V K Saxena has ordered the suspension of Dr. Vandana Bagga, the Director of the Health and Family Welfare Department, while specifying that a disciplinary proceeding is being contemplated against the doctor.
Issuing an order in this regard on 07.01.2025, the Delhi Governor further clarified that during the period that Dr. Bagga would remain suspended, she would not be allowed to leave the headquarters without obtaining the permission of the Competent Authority.

Bengaluru Gynaecologist Duped of Rs 2.5 Crore, Gold by Fraudster Posing as Deputy CM’s Sister
Bengaluru: A Bengaluru-based gynaecologist has become the latest victim of an investment fraud, alleging that she lost approximately Rs 2.5 crore and 2.3 kg of gold valuables to a scammer, Aishwarya Gowda, who was recently arrested but released on bail for posing as the sister of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and cheating several others.
The doctor has been identified as Dr Manjula A Patil, an obstetrician and gynaecologist posted at a private hospital in western Bengaluru. She accused Gowda of duping her for the past three years promising lucrative high returns on the investment which turned out to be fake.

Bhopal Doctors Booked for Negligence After Patient Dies During Tubectomy Allegedly Performed without Anaesthesia
Bhopal: Five persons including a gynaecologist, anaesthesia specialist, medical officer, paramedic staff and the superintendent of Katju Hospital have recently been booked by TT Nagar police station for allegedly causing a woman's death due to medical negligence while conducting her tubectomy around seven months ago. It was alleged that the patient was operated on without being administered any anaesthesia. After around 20 minutes of being taken inside for the surgery, she passed away.
Based on the complaint received in this regard, the officials at TT Nagar police station have registered an FIR against Dr Jain, the gynaecologist, Colonel Singh, the hospital superintendent, an anaesthesia specialist, De. Grewal, a medical officer of the medico-legal institute of GMC, and a paramedic staff.

NEET PG 2024 Transparency matter: Supreme Court Refuses to Order Fresh Counselling
New Delhi: While hearing the plea seeking measures to ensure increased transparency in the National Eligibility-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) exams, the Supreme Court has clarified that it would not order fresh counselling if the counselling process were over.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a plea was filed before the Supreme Court seeking disclosure of the answer keys and question papers of the NEET-PG 2024 exam, among other measures to ensure increased transparency.
