New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified that doctors cannot register their additional qualifications with the Commission without paying the prescribed fee to the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) first.

The Apex Medical Commission has clarified that it can only submit requests for verification of AQ to NBEMS after successful payment of the fees by the applicant. This will be applicable to doctors who have completed their degrees under NBEMS including DNB, DrNB, FNB as well as FMGE doctors.

Reduce NEET-PG 2024 Cut-off: Doctors write to Health Minister

New Delhi: Highlighting the vacant postgraduate medical seats after the conclusion of the All India 2nd Round of NEET PG 2024 counselling, the doctors under the Indian Medical Association Junior Doctors' Network (IMA JDN) have urged the Union Health Minister Shri J P Nadda to reduce the cut-off marks for the PG medical entrance exam to fill up the vacant seats.

Dr Indranil Deshmukh, the National Convenor of IMA JDN informed Medical Dialogues "It is being speculated that after the completion of Round 2 All India Counselling, 15000-16000 PG seats may remain vacant."

PMJAY Angioplasty Deaths Case: Another Khyati Hospital Director Held

Ahmedabad: In connection with the deaths of two Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) beneficiaries following botched angioplasty procedures at Khyati Multispeciality Hospital in Gujarat's Ahmedabad last month, another director of the facility has been arrested, bringing the total number of arrests to eight.

Seven persons underwent angioplasty, a procedure that widens blocked or narrowed coronary arteries to improve blood flow to the heart, at Khyati Multispeciality Hospital on November 11, following which two of them died, prompting Vastrapur police to register three FIRs the next day.

Ragging complaint filed against senior MBBS students of Sivagangai Medical College

Sivagangai: Fresh allegations of ragging have surfaced at Government Sivagangai Medical College and Hospital, with reports indicating that first-year and second-year junior MBBS students are being harassed by senior students.

This comes after the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University received an anonymous complaint with claims that the seniors allegedly had been harassing and ragging juniors on the campus.
