Overview
Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research issues statement addressing MBBS, PG seat withdrawal, Financial allegations
Amid the confusion regarding the National Medical Commission (NMC) allotting zero seats and the media reports claiming that MBBS and PG seats were scrapped after CAG found financial irregularities, the Hamdard Education Society (HES), which is a subservient society of the sponsoring body of the Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (HIMSR), issued a public notice along with a clarification on the matter.
This comes after an article titled "Jamia Hamdard's 150 MBBS, 49 PG seats scrapped for 2025-26; CAG had flagged 813-crore diversion" was published in The Times of India on 23rd July 2025.
Referring to the article, HES mentioned in the notice, "The aforementioned article, based on statements attributed to Jamia Hamdard University, contains material misrepresentations, factual inaccuracies, and misleading assertions that are detrimental to the reputation and lawful functioning of both HIMSR and HES."
