Delhi Doctor arrested for Firing Gunshots in Public

Uttar Pradesh: A Delhi based doctor has been arrested in connection with the recent firing incident which went viral on social media.

On June 22, a video went viral on the social media in which some persons were seen firing in the air near Shyam Lal College in Shahdara area. A case was then registered with the police.

One of the accused, identified as a 26-year-old doctor, was nabbed on June 24, informed Ved Prakash Surya, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara). The doctor earlier worked at a government hospital but has been unemployed for the last two weeks, reports IANS.

"During the interrogation, accused himself admitted that on June 21 he along with his friends went to attend the marriage party of their best friend in Uttar Pradesh. When they were returning in the night, they reached near Muskan Chowk and stopped their vehicle and opened fire in the air to show up," the release issued by the police mentioned.

The doctor also disclosed the name of other accused involved in the incident, reports ANI.

Efforts are underway to nab the other culprits, said Surya.

The second video, which was from the wedding venue, also shows the men dancing with the guns.
