Delhi Govt to give out Service Awards to Doctors, Para-Medicos, Nurses, invites Applications
The Delhi Government will give the award to 20 service doctors from allopathy, homeopathy and Indian Systems of Medicine and 31 paramedical and nursing staffs.
New Delhi: The Health Department of the Delhi Government has recently written to all Directors, Head of the Departments (HODs), Medical Superintendents (MSs) and Chief District Medical Officers (CDMOs) of the Delhi hospitals to recommend names of the regular service medical professionals for giving them state awards for the year 2017-18 and 2018-19.
The Director-General of Health Services, Dr Ashok Kumar, in the letter, invited applications for state award to regular service doctors, para-medical and nursing staffs working under Delhi Government, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) for at least last 15 years.
Through the letter, the DGHS also asked the concerned officials to circulate the formats so as to give a fair chance to give the eligible/deserving candidates in their departments/institution. The Application will be scrutinized by HODs/ MSs/ Head of concerned institutions. The applications of only deserving candidates (Limiting to 5 percent of existing staffs) may be forwarded to this directorate.
The letter further directed that all recommended applications for awards should be accompanied with supportive documents, ACR grading for the last five years, vigilance clearance and one-page citation. The complete/ scrutinized applications duly recommended by HOD should reach to this directorate will before 20th March 2019. The format of the applications can be downloaded from the official website: health.delhigovt.nic.in.

The letter also mentioned that the applications for state awards 2015-16 and 2016-17 will also be received up to 20th March as well.

Each awardee will be given a memento, citation certificate, and cash award.
The awards will be conferred to the selected candidates by the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
At present, each doctor is given a cash award of Rs 1 lakh and each nurse/paramedical staff is given Rs 50,000, reports The Hindu.
