Dengue Strikes Delhi: 277 cases reported in first 15 days of August
This year dengue is sharply on the rise in the capital with 262 dengue cases being reported in the city of Delhi itself and the number rising to 277 if we consider neighbouring states. These statistics stand for the first 14 days of the month of August. This is a sharp rise comparing the same time to previous years when only 26 cases of dengue were reported upto 14th  August in 2014 and 54 in 2013. Just last week only a total of 158
As per historical statistics, dengue is highly prevalent in the city during the months of September, October and November. The highest number of cases has been recorded in Narela with 77 cases reported so far followed by  delhi South zone where 44 cases has been reported.
Dengue has claimed 2 lives this year already and now keeping officials on the worry. Measures are being fastened to tackle the dengue epidemic, with the authorities stepping up their vigilance drive and dengue precautions initiatives throughout the city.
