Delhi Medical Council Appoints New President, Vice- President

Dr Arun Gupta, a practising paediatrician from North Delhi has been elected the new President of the Delhi Medical council. Dr N.P Singh, Senior Nephrologist with Max Super-speciality hospital, Vaishali ( Earlier, Pushpanjali crosslay) has been elected has the vice president

The Delhi Medical Council, a few months back, elected and formed its Governing Council comprising representatives from various parts of the profession. Of these 8 people were directly elected by elections conducted by the Delhi Government among the registered members of the Delhi Medical Council. Apart from these elected members, every Medical College of the Capital elected its one representative from their own teaching faculties. 4 Members of the governing council were nominated by the Delhi government and there are two Ex-officio members in the Governing Council , namely the Director of Health Services and, Dean, Faculty of Medicine. One representative has also been selected from the Delhi Medical Association to become a part of the governing body.

The Members of governing body, held an election today to elect for the post of President, DMC, Vice-President, DMC and the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee. The results of the election are as follows.
