Over five lakh kids in the northeast were a part of the governments drive on immunization vaccine under the Mission Indradhanush immunisation programme
Union Health Minister, JP Nadda has reportedly confirmed IANS that over five lakh children have been vaccinated in the northeast under the Mission Indradhanush immunisation programme. 50,000 pregnant women were also a part of the mission to increase the level of immunization in the region.
"The government has conducted four rounds of Mission Indradhanush in 33 high-focus districts of the northeast, targeting areas with partial immunisation and no immunisation. During these rounds, 5.6 lakh children and 0.53 lakh pregnant women were vaccinated," he said.
"The government provides financial support to the states/UTs for strengthening and upgradation of healthcare infrastructure based on the proposals submitted by the states in their Programme Implementation Plans (PIP)," he said.
