Gujrat: HCG hospitals launches advanced Robotic Surgery System for minimally invasive surgeries
Ahmedabad: HCG - The Specialists in Cancer Care introduced for the first time in Gujarat, next generation robotic surgery system. Developed by Intuitive Surgical Incorporated, da Vinci XI Surgical System enables surgeons to perform minimally invasively surgeries, i.e. operations through a few small incisions. The da Vinci System features a magnified 3D HD vision system and tiny wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human hand. As a result of enhanced ergonomics, da Vinci enables surgeons to operate with enhanced vision, precision and control.
Present at the conference, Dr. Hemang Bakshi - Uro Oncologist and Dr. Jagdish Kothari – GI & HPB Surgical Oncologist - HCG Cancer Centre - Ahmedabad added, “Robotically-assisted surgery was developed to overcome the limitations of pre-existing minimally-invasive surgical procedures and to enhance the capabilities of surgeons performing open surgery. Its advantages for the patients include further reduction of surgical trauma in combination with faster recovery times. With introduction of Gujarat’s first da Vinci XI surgical system, HCG is not only offering the most advance technologies but improving the quality of life for patients as well.”
Present at the conference, Dr. Bharat Gadhavi – COO – HCG Cancer Centre – Gujarat said, “Our aim is to provide latest technology and accessible cancer care in India without compromising on quality and affordability. Today we achieve a significant landmark with the introduction of the next generation robotic surgery system in Gujarat.”
