NEET PG: 47,164 students admitted in 2024-25- NMC warns of missing data, urges verification

National Medical Commission (NMC)
New Delhi: The Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked that students admitted to the postgraduate medical courses for the academic year 2024-2025 verify if their names are listed on the Commission's portal.
Issuing a public notice on 12.06.2025, the NMC PG Board mentioned how some of the colleges have not uploaded the details of the students admitted to PG courses, and some institutes have uploaded incomplete data.
According to NMC, the details of 47,164 PG medical students are available on the NMC portal. Referring to this, the Commission advised the students who got admitted to PG Broad specialty courses for the academic year 2024-2025 to consult the concerned Directorate of Medical Education/ Counselling Authority to urgently confirm if their names are not reflected in the list.
The Commission mentioned that the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulation, 2023 prescribes conditions and modalities for admission to Postgraduate Level Medical Education through common counselling.
Accordingly, after completion of the counselling period, the PGMEB, through Public Notice dated 25.03. 2025, and 30.03.2025, had requested all the Medical Colleges to upload the details of students admitted for postgraduate Medical Education for the Academic Year 2024-2025, latest by 07.04.2025.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that NMC had later announced its decision to extend the last date for online filling of information regarding admissions made to Medical Colleges through National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 for the academic year 2024-2025. The Commission had taken this decision after noting that the admission monitoring portal was undergoing updates and maintenance and would be made available to medical colleges/institutes to fill in the requisite details at a later date.

Therefore, NMC on 22.05.2025 had extended the deadline for uploading the details of PG medical students admitted for the academic year 2024-2025 up to 10.06.2025.
However, NMC mentioned in the notice, "Some of the colleges have not uploaded the details of the students admitted to Postgraduate courses, while some colleges uploaded incomplete data. Despite issuance of various circulars and public notices, it is found that a total number of 47,164 students have been admitted for the Academic Year 2024-25, and whose details have been uploaded on the NMC Portal."
"All the students studying for Postgraduate Course (MD/MS/Diploma) Broad Specialty and who have got admission for the Academic Year 2024-25 are requested to go through the uploaded list, which is available on the website of the NMC, with the following link to ensure that their names are reflected in the list," the Commission mentioned in the notice dated 12.06.2025.
Advising students to consult the Directorate of Medical Education/Counselling Authority urgently if their names are not in the list, NMC further added in the letter, "Student who got admission in Postgraduate Graduate Medical Education Broad specialty for the Academic Year 2024-25 and their names are not reflected in the list may consult the concerned Directorate of Medical Education/Counselling Authority Urgently."
NMC Secretary Dr. Raghav Langer also issued a notice on 13.06.2025 in this regard. Referring to the PG Board's notice, NMC Secretary mentioned in the notice dated 13.06.2025, "Reference is invited to Public Notice no. N-P050(20)/30/2025- PGMEB-NMC-Part(1) dated 12 th June, 2025 (copy enclosed) issued by the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) requesting all the students studying in Postgraduate Broad Specialty Courses (MD/MS/Diploma) and who have got admission for the Academic Year 2024-25 to go through the list which is accessible on the link provided in the enclosed notice.
