First NMC Public Grievance Hearing to be held tomorrow
New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has revised the date for its first public grievance hearing, which was scheduled to be held on Thursday i.e. September 07, 2023.
Issuing a public notice, the Apex Medical Commission informed that the hearing for this week would be conducted on Wednesday i.e. September 06, 2023, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM.
NMC, the Apex Medical Body, took this decision as it pointed out that September 07, 2023, has been declared a holiday for all Central Government Offices.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that through a notice dated September 01, 2023, NMC had announced its decision to hold a Public Heating on a weekly basis starting on September 07, 2023, to address the grievances in the matters related to the Commission.
The NMC Secretary had informed that this redressal/public hearing for grievances, suggestions, or query resolutions would be held on Thursday every week from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Accordingly, September 07, 2023, i.e. Thursday was fixed for the first hearing and the Commission had informed that those who wished to present their grievances in person may send brief details about the same at least 2 days prior via email.
These details will have to be sent to grievance_cell@nmc.org.in and after receipt of the confirmation of the date, the applicants can schedule a physical visit, the Commission had informed. Further, NMC clarified that a maximum of two individuals for each of the issues may remain present at the assigned date.
However, the date of the first hearing scheduled to be held on September 07, 2023, has been revised and it will now be held on Wednesday as the Commission pointed out that Thursday i.e. 7th September 2023 has been declared a holiday for all Central Government Offices.
In this regard, the NMC notice dated September 04, 2023 mentioned, "Reference is invited to the National Medical Commission's Public Notice dated 1st September 2023 [F.No. A-42011/01/2023/NMC/Estt (e.File 8237157)] whereby it was informed that Thursday of every week is designated as redressal / public hearing time for grievances / suggestions / query resolutions."
"Since the 7th September 2023 (Thursday) has been declared holiday for all Central Government Offices, it has been decided that the hearing for this week would be held on 6th September 2023 (Wednesday) from 10 AM to 11.30 AM," further mentioned the Commission.
