Medicine and Surgery in Ancient India: NMC to Develop Library, work on Documentation, invites experts
New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) is going to develop a library and work on the process of documentation of 'Medicine & Surgery in Ancient India'.
In this regard, the Apex Medical Commission has expressed its interest to enlist experts from the medical field, or any other discipline who can help develop the library by identifying and collecting the books or manuscripts to maintain a comprehensive list of books.
Apart from this, the Commission has also given a call to the faculty members who have an interest and who have worked in the field of 'Medicine & Surgery in Ancient India' and fill up a Google Form by December 15, 2023.
Issuing a notice in this regard, the Publication Division of NMC mentioned, "I am writing to inform you that the Publication Division has been entrusted with the significant responsibility of developing a library which will be a valuable resource for students, teachers, and researchers and fostering an academic environment within the National Medical Commission (NMC)."
The Commission further mentioned that in line with this directive, it is also working on the exploration and documentation of 'Medicine & Surgery in Ancient India'. Referring to this project, NMC mentioned in the notice, "To facilitate the successful completion of this initiative, we want to enlist experts from the medical field, or any other discipline who can help us develop the library by identifying and collecting the books or manuscripts to maintain a comprehensive list of books."
"We kindly request your immediate attention to disseminate this information and help us gather information about experts in this field whose expertise and commitment is crucial to the success of this endeavor," it further added.
Requesting the interested faculty members, especially those who have previous experience, the Commission mentioned, "In this regard, those faculty members who have an interest and have worked in the field of 'Medicine & Surgery in Ancient India' may be requested to fill Google Form attached latest by 15 December, 2023. We will contact the experts as and when required."
"We look forward to your prompt action and cooperation in this matter and we look forward to hearing from you soon," read the NMC notice issued by Yogender Malik, the head of NMC Publication Division.
