New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked the applicants seeking to open new medical colleges or start/increase MBBS and PG medical seats to submit the required Bank Guarantees before deadline.
The applicants have been asked to submit the concerned documents positively within October 20, 2023. If they fail to do so, their applications will be rejected and not entertained, clarified the Commission.
In this regard, the NMC notice dated 12.10.2023 stated, "All the applicants (Colleges) who have successfully submitted their applications for Academic Year 2024-25 on NMC Portal for Establishment of new Medical Colleges, increase of MBBS seats, starting of PG Courses and increase of PG seats are requested to submit the necessary Bank Guarantees (BGs) wherever applicable on or before 20.10.2023 positively failing which their applications will be rejected and not entertained in any circumstances."
"This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority," the notice further read.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that by issuing the notice on August 16, the NMC Medical Assessment and Rating Board invited applications for starting new Post Graduate Broad and Super Specialty courses, or an increase of MD/MS, DM/MCh seats for the academic year 2024-2025.
The Commission asked the medical institutes to send the applications to the NMC Board by September 15, 2023, along with the documents including- Valid Consent of Affiliation (CoA) in the prescribed proforma, details of hospital and department, revised fees along with UTR number.
Later, the PG Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of NMC asked the medical colleges, whose applications for recognition/renewal of recognition of PG medical qualifications during the year 2022 are pending, to submit fresh applications for an increase of PG medical seats for the academic session 2024-2025.
Back in August 2023, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of NMC invited applications to start new medical colleges, increase of MBBS seats, and renewal of courses pending recognitions for the academic year 2024-25. At that time, the Commission had clarified that "Only online application will be accepted. Applications received after the due date will not be entertained."
