NMC slams medical colleges over errors in MBBS admission entries, calls for rectification

New Delhi: Pointing out wrong entries made by medical colleges/institutions while submitting the details of students admitted to the MBBS course in 2024-2025 on the NMC portal, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked for rectification and re-checking of the details.
Issuing a notice, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of NMC clarified that this negligence by the colleges has been viewed seriously by the NMC authorities. NMC has also asked that if any discrepancies are observed on the list, they should be reported to the Commission within 7 days.
Further, the Commission asked the students who were admitted to the MBBS course for the academic year 2024-2025 to consult the concerned Medical College/Directorate of Medical Education/Counselling Authority urgently if their names are not reflected in the list.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in its notice dated May 30, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) had asked the students admitted to the MBBS course for the academic year 2024-2025 to verify if their names are listed on the Commission's portal.
Back then, the Commission had clarified that only the students whose details have been uploaded on the portal shall be eligible to practice modern medicine in India. Therefore, students were asked to consult the concerned DME/Counselling Authority urgently if their names were not reflected in the list.
UGMEB, in its circular dated 30th October, 2024 had requested all the medical colleges to upload the details of students admitted for Graduate Level Medical Education for the Academic Year 2024-2025 by 08.11.2024. The deadline for this was extended time and again by NMC. Finally, when the Supreme Court decided to extend the last date of NEET UG counselling till 30.12.2024. NMC granted a last opportunity to the colleges for online submission of MBBS admission details until 28.02.2025.
However, in the recent notice dated 30.05.2025, NMC UG Board mentioned that some of the colleges did not upload the details of the students admitted in the MBBS Course, and some colleges uploaded incomplete data.
Referring to its earlier directions, the UG Board of NMC mentioned in its recent notice dated 04.08.2025, "A public notice having the details of students admitted for MBBS course for the year 2024-2025 was uploaded on NMC website dated on 30.05.2025, wherein, it was requested to all concerned (colleges/ medical institutions) as well as students, who got admission in MBBS course 2024-2025 to check the details of student admitted in MBBS course for AY 2024-25 on student admission portal and ensure their name are properly reflected in the uploaded list."
Meanwhile, the Commission noted that wrong entries were made by the medical colleges. Providing the details for the same, the Commission added in the notice, "It has been brought to notice that few wrong entries have been made by the Medical colleges/medical institutions while submitting the details of students on NMC portal, specially at serial numbers 65155, 38414, 30111, 102857, 114060, 23133, 89981, 207, 39259, 7339 3, 55350, 96762, 48101, 67021, 173, 42740, 725, 1938, 2271, 2600, 17697, 19733 , 20007, 23040, 29508, 29540, 29569, 35589, 35617, 35671, 35750, 35788, 36954, 38028, 42210, 44226, 45249, 51118, 61462, 67330, 67425, 69511, 69741, 70671, 76796, 77519, 79875, 79945, 82218, 87227, 87930, 89553, 90467, 90847, 95091, 95936, 102503, 102517, 104673, 114383 etc."
Clarifying that the "aforesaid negligence made by the colleges/ institution, has been viewed seriously by NMC authorities", the Commission requested to re-check the list.
"Therefore, it is again requested to re-check the details of the admitted students for A.Y. 2024-25 on the list uploaded through the Public Notice dated 30-05-2025. If any discrepancies are observed, the same may be informed on support.ugmonitoring@nmc.org.in within 7 days of the issuance of this notice, so that same may be rectified on the students admission portal," NMC added in the notice.
