International Yoga day: JIPMER is nodal centre for Celebrations
as part of fifth International Yoga Day, ACYTER, JIPMER is conducting a 15-day special free Yoga training camp for public, JIPMER staff and students from June 7 to 21.
Puducherry- Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi, have selected Advance Center for Yoga Therapy Education and Research (ACYTER), of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) as one of the Nodal Centers in the country for official celebration of 5th International Yoga Day in Pondicherry.
According to a Jipmer release on Saturday, as part of fifth International Yoga Day, ACYTER, JIPMER is conducting a 15-day special free Yoga training camp for public, JIPMER staff and students from June 7 to 21.
During this yoga camp, the participants are trained to learn and practice common yoga protocols that include basic asanas, pranayama and suryanamaskar as prescribed by Ministry of AYUSH.
The entire yoga training programme is being conducted in ACYTER, fourth floor of JIPMER Academic Centre. This year Ministry of AYUSH has given guidelines to conduct International Yoga Day on June 21, that includes practice of common yoga schedule in the morning a conduct of a yoga seminar in the forenoon.
Dr. Rakesh Aggarwal, Director of JIPMER is the Chief Patron and Dr. R. P. Swaminathan, Dean (Academic), and Dr. A. S. Badhe, Medical Superintendent are the Patrons of the International Yoga Day celebration at ACYTER, JIPMER, the release added.
