Jaipur: Doctor caught red-handed for Sex Determination
Jaipur: Rajasthan health officials have arrested a doctor and his aide after performing a sting operation revealing the doctor indulging in sex determination activities.
The sting happened after the health officials in Jaipur received a tip that a doctor was involved in sex determination activities in the Hanumangarh area. The officials decided to perform a sting operation using a decoy. In this a pregnant woman ( decoy ) along with three other people approached the doctor and his aide to determine the sex of the foetus. TOI reports that the decoy had come from Haryana for the purpose of the sting operation.
During the operation, the doctor was caught red handed performing sex determination of Rs 35,000.
"A private doctor Sheopat Rai was caught red-handed for conducting sex determination in the decoy operation. His aide demanded Rs35,000 for sex selection. One aide fled with the money while another was arrested by the police," additional chief medical health officer Dr Yogendra Taneja told TOI.
