Jammu and Kashmir CM hits out at Assam Health minister over his cancer remark
Srinagar: Reacting to Assam Health Minister Himanta Sarma's comment that cancer strikes those who sin, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah said 'what does a person say in the face of such ignorant and dangerous stupidity'.
"What does a person say in the face of such ignorant & dangerous stupidity! " Mr Abdullah, who is the working president of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Mr Sarma, who is BJP's north-east strategist, has drawn criticism and jibes from people belonging to different walks of life, including politicians, for allegedly linking accidents and life-threatening diseases like cancer to 'sin, past life and divine justice'.
