Karnataka: Doctor held for misbehaving, sexually harassing Indigo air-hostess
Bengaluru: Based on a complaint filed by an air-hostess, a Tamil Nadu-based doctor was recently detained at the Kempegowda International Airport on account sexually harassing the lady crew member onboard an Indigo flight. The air hostess alleged that the doctor allegedly misbehaved with her and also touched her inappropriately.
As per recent media accounts, the doctor has been identified as an MD degree holder from Tiruchirapalli. He boarded an Indigo flight from Lucknow to Bengaluru, that landed at the airport on October 1 2019, (Tuesday). The medical practitioner was taken into custody as soon as the flight landed at 8:32 am in the morning.
The airline office alerted the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel who escorted the doctor to the terminal and was later handed over to the airport police.

The action against the doctor was came after a complaint moved by an air hostess, who was on duty in the same flight. The female flight attendant filed a complaint of unruly behaviour against the medical practitioner. In her complaint, she alleged that the medical practitioner misbehaved with her by touching her inappropriately and sexually harassed her.
However, no FIR was filed in this regard since the attendant did not want to enlarge the issue. Confirming the incident, the airport police told The New Indian Express, “The woman did not want to want to make a big issue of it. Since unruly behaviour is a non-cognizable offence, we did not book an FIR.”
