Maharashtra: Doctor looted by burglers pretending to be patients; 3 arrested
Yavatmal: Three persons have been arrested for allegedly robbing a doctor of cash and jewellery in Maharashtra's Yavatmal district.
The three had visited the house of the doctor late night on June 2 on the pretext of getting a patient examined. "When the doctor opened the door of his house, the trio, with one of them brandishing a knife, looted cash and jewellery. A case was registered with Mahagaon police station the next day. The probe was later handed over to the Yavatmal Crime Branch," an official said.
A Crime Branch team led by assistant inspector Nilesh Shelke made the arrests from Pusad on Sunday and seized a motorcycle and two mobiles for the accused, he said.
"The cash and jewellery looted from the victim has not been recovered and efforts are on in this connection," Crime Branch chief Pradeep Siraskar said.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a doctor had filed a complaint against four unknown perpetrators who allegedly looted him on gunpoint while pretending to be patients in need of medical assistance
The government doctor at Indravati hospital informed the police that two unknown persons who identified themselves as patients in need of severe medical attention came to doctor’s residence. Assuming this to be an emergency, the doctor opened the door and allowed them to come inside his house to investigate the ailment. In the meantime, two other persons entered the house with their faces covered. They took out their sharp weapons and arms and started threatening the family members.
