MBBS Marks NOT Age to be Tie Breaker Criteria in NEET PG 2018-NBE
New Delhi: Through a recent notification, the National Board of Examinations have made a number of announcements regarding the results of NEET PG 2018 that was conducted 07/01/2018 for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in the country. NBE has declared the result of NEET-PG 2018 on 23/01/2018 in respect of 128917 candidates who had appeared in the exam.
NBE has now made important clarifications about the tie-breaking criteria in NEET PG scores to Determine NEET PG ranking
In the result NBE has provided the marks obtained by each candidate. Tie-breaking of candidates having same marks & same number of correct responses in NEET-PG 2018 shall be done on the basis of marks obtained in the MBBS professional exams. This is unlike previous NEET-PG and AIPGMEE where only date of birth was utilized as a tie-breaking criteria.
NBE also has given a one time opportunity for students to correct their entry of marks in the portal if done so incorrectly. Final ranks will be announced on 15th February 2018
Due to candidates making incorrect MBBS marks entries in the online application form and in order to ensure that the tie-breaking is accurate, NBE has given a onetime final opportunity to all the applicant candidates to make corrections in their MBBS marks through the online portal and submit their scanned MBBS Professional mark sheets as a proof of the same for the purpose of verification by NBE. Tie-breaking and generation of the merit list shall be done thereafter in accordance with the criteria mentioned in the Information Bulletin. As per NBE Public Notice dated 29/01/2018 which is also available at NEET-PG website www.nbe.edu.in, the merit list shall be declared by 15/02/2018. NBE shall also publish the number of questions attempted correctly and incorrectly by the candidates at the time of declaration of the merit list.
In an earlier notification, the Organisation had clarified on the issues of questions marked for review reiterating that In the instructions which were part of the question paper of NEET-PG 2018 it was explicitly mentioned that the questions which have been marked for review shall be evaluated.
