Sun Pharma Sets Record with Over 1 Lakh Uric Acid Screenings in 3 Days

Sun Pharmaceuticals has achieved a significant milestone by setting a national record for screening the highest number of individuals for uric acid levels.
This large-scale health initiative, conducted from March 11 to March 13, 2025, was organized to commemorate World Kidney Day and aimed to raise awareness about the early detection of elevated uric acid levels—a key indicator of kidney health.
Over the course of three days, Sun Pharma organized 2,000 screening camps across various regions of India, successfully screening a total of 1,00,655 individuals. This extensive effort was officially recognized by the Asia Book of Records on March 19, 2025, as the maximum number of people screened for uric acid by an organization.
Elevated uric acid levels can be a precursor to serious health conditions, including kidney disease and gout. The campaign received support from healthcare professionals, diagnostic partners, and local health authorities across states, ensuring smooth execution and impactful engagement with communities.
Sun Pharma, headquartered in Mumbai, is India’s largest pharmaceutical company and the world’s fourth-largest specialty generics maker. It operates in over 100 countries, producing and marketing both pharmaceutical formulations and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
