Through a recent notice, the National Medical Commission has warned the medical college authorities against impersonators using the Commission's name to seek money.
Writing to the heads of medical institutes across the country, NMC Chairman Dr B Srinivas has informed that such impersonators are posing as either the Chairman of the Commission or the President of the Board(s) under NMC.

Tamil Nadu resident doctors have urged the Government to reduce the bond period for Non-Service Post Graduates from 2 years to 1 year and also reduce the bond amount from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 20 lakh for PG medical degree holders and from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for diploma holders.
In this regard, the Tamil Nadu Resident Doctors Association (TNRDA) wrote to the Director of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) on 30.01.2025. Apart from urging the authorities to reduce the bond period and bond amount, the association also demanded that bond postings should be issued within 1-3 months of course completion and requested for the release of original certificates if bond postings are delayed beyond 3 months.

A major crackdown on illegal sex determination practices in Delhi led to the arrest of a radiologist and a tout at Arogya Diagnostic and Dental Centre in Dwarka on Thursday. The raid was conducted after a tip-off indicated the centre's involvement in illegal sex determination.
According to Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata, the Health Department received a specific information regarding illegal sex determination at the centre, prompting the local authorities to take immediate action. Following the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, the Health Department conducted a raid.
