Three medical, health universities declared fake by UGC, warns students not to take admission
An initiative to prevent students from taking admission in a fake universities, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has recently named 21 such institutions at its website that are fake.
The list of 21 fake institution also contains 3 names that claim to be medical/health universities but are nowhere authorized by the regulator UGC to confer degrees.
These medical/health universities include All India Institute of Public & Physical Health Sciences (AIIPHS) State Government University in New Delhi, Indian Institute of Alternative Medicine, Kolkata, West Bengal and Institute of Alternative Medicine and Research, West Bengal.

Bhopal pregnant PG medico suicide case: GMC HOD of gynaecology removed
As the medical fraternity continues its indefinite strike calling for justice for Dr Bala Saraswati, the HOD of the gynaecology department of Gandhi Medical College, (GMC) Bhopal has been removed from her position by the college authorities on Wednesday after allegations came to light that she allegedly harassed a 27-year-old PG student, leading to her suicide.
Although the authorities sacked the HOD to end the junior doctor's strike, the agitating doctors have confirmed that they will call off the strike only when they receive a copy of the official order.

AYUSH visa for foreign nationals seeking Indian medicine treatment
Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has notified the creation of a new category of Ayush (AY) visa for foreign nationals for treatment under Ayush systems/Indian systems of medicine. The introduction of Ayush Visa fulfills the proposal for introduction of a special visa scheme for foreigners visiting India for treatment under Ayush systems/Indian systems of medicine like therapeutic care, wellness and Yoga.
A new chapter i.e. chapter 11A – Ayush Visa has been incorporated after Chapter 11 - Medical Visa of the Visa Manual, which deals with treatment under the Indian systems of medicine and accordingly necessary amendments has been made in various chapters of the Visa Manual, 2019.
