The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) recently upheld negligence charges against a Diagnostic Centre for giving erroneous reports to a patient, who had to undergo a series of unnecessary tests and suffer immense anxiety.
"...we find no illegality or material irregularity or jurisdictional error in the order of the State Commission, hence the same is upheld," the Commission observed.
A surgeon from Kanpur was recently arrested for illegally entering the Bharatiya Janta Party's (BJP) manifesto release event at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on Sunday.
The 52-year-old doctor, Dr. Shakti Bhargav, allegedly entered the event posing as a journalist from a hindi newspaper and using a fake identity card. Reportedly, the doctor's intention was to highlight the alleged irregularities at Kanpur's Lal Imli Mill.

For MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB admissions this year, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the seat matrix for candidates willing to appear in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling allotment process for AIQ, Deemed, Central State Quota.
As per the seat matrix, a total of 6805 seats are vacant in the DNB course, 6140 seats are vacant in Deemed University, 819 seats are vacant in Internal Quota and 12761 seats are vacant in All India Quota (MD/MS/DIPLOMA).

On the proposed changes in the NEET UG examination pattern recommended by a committee headed by former ISRO chief, a Health Activist doctor recently wrote to the National Testing Agency (NTA) to reconsider them.
Pointing out his concerns regarding the proposed changes in the National Eligibility-Entrance Test 2025 exam pattern, attempt limit, and age limit for the test, in the letter dated 09.11.2024, Dr. Vivek Pandey objected to the proposal of introducing an age or attempt limit in the undergraduate medical entrance test highlighting that it would disproportionately affect the students from economically weaker sections.
