Pointing out that the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak row is directly linked to the widespread NEET 2024 paper leak scam, a doctors' body has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to dissolve the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Writing a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office in this regard, Dr Lakshya Mittal, Chairperson of the United Doctors' Front (UDF), alleged that constituting the NTA as an NGO and conducting examinations through private agencies was extremely unfortunate, claiming that the system had destroyed the credibility of education.

NEET SS 2025: Supreme Court Hearing Set for May 25 Amid Counselling Delay

The pending legal issue concerning the National Eligibility Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2025 examination is scheduled to be heard by the Supreme Court on May 25, as the superspeciality aspirants are waiting for the Round 2 Counselling.

Even though the matter was earlier scheduled for July, it has now been listed by the Apex Court for May 25, 2026. Meanwhile, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) is pursuing the matter to expedite the counselling process.

AIIMS Gorakhpur Allows Five Attempts for MBBS Students This Academic Session

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Gorakhpur has decided to grant five attempts to MBBS students to pass the exam, instead of four. The institute has implemented this arrangement from the current academic session.

The decision to grant an additional opportunity to the MBBS students was taken by the Standing Committee of the institute on compassionate grounds at a meeting held a few days ago.

MGM Indore Obgyn Department Faces Complaints Over Alleged Toxic Culture, Duty Violations

Alleging violations of duty-hour regulations and a toxic work culture at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of MGM Indore, a complaint has been filed before the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College, Indore, recently implemented the 1992 Residency Scheme under which resident doctors will now work no more than 12 hours per day and 48 hours per week. This was expected to bring relief to the resident doctors, who are often left exhausted, one step away from burnout due to rigorous duty hours assigned to them during their residency.
