Fire breaks out at AIIMS Mother and Child Block; No Casualties Reported
New Delhi: A fire broke out at the Mother and Child Block of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi on Thursday evening. 10 fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot to control the blaze, a fire official said.
No casualty was reported in the blaze, he said.
Hospital authorities said the situation was brought under control and that there was no impact on any patient care activities.
The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) officer said a call regarding the fire was received at 5.15 pm. "We rushed 10 fire tenders to the hospital and firefighting operations are ongoing," he said, news agency PTI reported.

No Malaria Vaccine for India Yet, Says Expert Panel: MoS Health
New Delhi: In a recent Lok Sabha session, the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Smt. Anupriya Patel informed that the government has decided not to proceed with the immediate inclusion of malaria vaccines in the Indian healthcare system.
The decision follows a detailed review by an expert committee, which assessed the suitability of malaria vaccines for India. The committee concluded that the country does not currently meet the necessary criteria for vaccine introduction, as malaria vaccines are primarily recommended for areas with moderate to high transmission rates and high risk of child mortality due to malaria.

Allahabad HC Stays Mid-Session MBBS Fee Hike, Relief for 240 Students
The Allahabad High Court recently halted the mid-session MBBS fee hike at the G.S. Medical College and Hospital in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh.
Issuing a notification, the State government had substantially increased the tuition fees for the MBBS programme during the 2024-2025 academic session. However, while considering the plea by 240 students from the institute, who challenged the fee enhancement, the Allahabad HC bench of Justice Chandra Dhari Singh issued a temporary stay on the concerned notification.
