Manipal Hospitals to set up Rs 700 crore Multi-Specialty hospital in Nagpur

Nagpur: Manipal Hospitals, one of the leading healthcare providers in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to build a state-of-the-art 350-bed multi-speciality Hospital at Nagpur.
This important partnership being explored reflects the common aim to improve healthcare infrastructure and access in the area.
The proposed hospital will entail an investment of nearly ₹700 crore and is expected to create about 3,000 new jobs. The MoU was signed in Mumbai, and the Government of Maharashtra has promised to facilitate all permits, approvals and fiscal incentives necessary to complete this project in a time-bound manner.

The hospital will start in 2029, making it a significant landmark for health care development, providing high-quality medical services to the people of Nagpur and its nearby areas.
Commenting on the announcement, Dilip Jose, Managing Director and CEO of Manipal Hospitals, said, “I would like to thank the Government of Maharashtra for their support and for entrusting us with this opportunity to serve the people of the state. This strategic expansion aligns with Manipal Hospitals’ vision to make advanced medical care accessible to all. The new facility in Nagpur will bring high-quality, multidisciplinary healthcare closer to communities that need it most, reinforcing our commitment to equitable and impactful care across Maharashtra.”
Additionally, the new hospital in Nagpur will offer an extensive range of specialized departments such as cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology services, etc.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that bringing an end to one of the most closely watched healthcare Merger and Acquisition (M&A) chases in India, the Manipal Health Enterprises, India's second-largest hospital chain, has acquired Sahyadri Hospitals from Canada's Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP) for Rs 6,400 crore, according to a recent Economic Times report.
