New rule for appointment of MBBS doctors in Punjab: Posting at hospitals only after 2-3 years of duty at Mohalla Clinic
Instead of government hospitals, the MBBS graduates who will complete their studies in Government medical colleges in Punjab will now get posted at the Mohalla Clinics.
Such a new policy has been conceptualized by the State Government, which recently dedicated 75 'Aam Aadmi Clinics' to the people of the State to mark 75 years of India's independence.
As per the State's plan, now the MBBS graduates from the medical colleges of the State will get posted directly to the Mohalla Clinics. After completeing a good practice for two-three years, these doctors will be sent to big hospitals, adds Dainik Bhaskar.

Shortage of specialists: Health ministry plans to increase DNB seats, relax norms for MD, MS seats
In an attempt to address the shortage of specialists, especially in the rural areas of India, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is planning to increase the Post-graduate medical seats in India and to double the existing numbers.
A senior official in the Medical Education division of the Health Ministry has informed Money Control that the PG medical seats would get doubled over the next few years so that most of the doctors can opt for higher education after graduating with an MBBS degree.

Delhi: Uptick in swine flu cases adds to worries; elderly, kids at higher risk
A sudden surge in Swine flu infections has been seen in Delhi amid the rising count of COVID cases. Swine Flu can become severe and fatal in high-risk individuals, like children, elderly, those with comorbidities, pregnant women and immunocompromised patients. The precautions that need to be taken are the same as Covid-19.
In the past week, a first-year paramedical student of AIIMS had died owing to both the novel coronavirus and Swine Flu.
1200 MBBS seats to be added in Telangana this academic year
In a major boost to the medical education in Telangana, around 1200 additional MBBS seats are going to be added to the seat matrix of the State from this academic year i.e. 2022-2023.
The medical seats in Telangana are going to increase further since the officials of the State Health Department have confirmed that the National Medical Commission (NMC) is expected to give its permission for four medical colleges in Mahabubabad, Mancherial, Kothagudem and Ramagundam in the next few weeks.

KGMU to expel 37 students unable to clear MBBS for 20 years after one last chance
Giving an ultimatum to 37 MBBS students, who could not clear their MBBS degree examination for the last twenty years, King George's Medical University (KGMU) has decided to expel them in case they cannot pass the exam after one last chance.
Although the University had been providing these students with several opportunities and concessions, they failed to complete their studies despite being admitted to the course around two decades ago.
