NEET MDS 2026 Round 2 Counselling Registration Begins: Check Details
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the seat matrices for Round 2 of the NEET MDS Counselling for the academic year 2026-27.
The three seat matrices include clear vacancy seats, virtual vacancy seats and newly added seats.
The registration process will continue until September 19, 2026. Candidates can register up to 3:00 PM on September 19, according to server time. The payment facility will remain open until 6:00 PM on the same day. Meanwhile, choice filling will be available from September 16 to September 21, 2026. Candidates can submit their choices until 10:00 AM on September 21. The schedule mentioned that choice locking will begin at 6:00 PM on September 20 and remain open until 10:00 AM on September 21, 2026.

MBBS Student Seeks One Grace Mark to Save Academic Year, MP HC Asks University Chancellor to Respond
The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently asked the Chancellor of the State-run MP Medical Science University, Jabalpur, whether one grace mark can be granted to an MBBS student under the varsity's statute.
This matter was raised before the MP High Court after an MBBS student from Gwalior-based Gajra Raja Medical College filed a plea.
In the plea, the student requested the High Court's intervention for one grace mark so he does not have to lose an academic year after failing his exam.

Supreme Court Junks Plea Seeking Disclosure of NMC Verification Process for Medical Practitioners
The Supreme Court today (September 16, 2026) dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking directions to the National Medical Commission (NMC) to disclose the verification mechanism currently undertaken before a person gets permission to practise medicine.
Appearing before the Apex Court bench, the petitioner sought directions for audit of the medical regulations and the constitution of an expert committee to look into the issue of alleged fake medical degrees, forged qualifications and unqualified persons practising medicine.

MP HC Seeks Centre, State Response Over Lack of District Panels for Medical Negligence Cases
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has sought the Centre and State Government's response to a PIL questioning the absence of medical panels in each district for consultation in medical negligence cases against doctors.
A Division Bench of the MP High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Pradeep Mittal issued notices to the Centre and the State on September 11, seeking a response within four weeks.
