MBBS Exam Scam: Rohtak university urged to speed up investigation
On the recent "MBBS exam scam" surfaced from Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak, the district administration has asked the institute to expedite its investigation and submit a report at the earliest for prompt action on the matter.
The order came after a meeting held between Rohtak Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadagta and Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia with university officials, including Vice Chancellor Dr HK Aggarwal, at the Mini Secretariat on Thursday to discuss updates on the investigation.
In a disturbing case, a 17-year-old Class 12 student was found dead near Basai village in Haryana’s Gurgaon district, days after being reported abducted. On January 15, the boy’s father received a troubling call from someone claiming to be his son's friend, alleging the teen had been abducted outside a church in Devilal Colony around 7:30 PM. After losing contact with his son, the father filed a police complaint at the Sector 9A police station, leading to an FIR being registered.
Two days later, the boy's body was discovered near Basai village. Investigations revealed that the teen had been attacked by a minor acquaintance using sticks and stones. Authorities apprehended the suspect, a minor, who reportedly confessed to the crime. The motive behind the killing remains under investigation.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Thursday the suspension of 12 doctors including the medical superintendent and vice-principal (MSVP) along with six postgraduate trainee doctors at Midnapore Medical College and Hospital for negligence in the death of a woman and four others falling ill after childbirth due to the alleged administration of ‘expired’ intravenous fluid.
Condemning the incident, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said her government would offer the family of the deceased woman a compensation of ₹5 lakh and a government job, news agency PTI reported.

In a shocking incident, a middle-aged Delhi doctor was allegedly brutally murdered with a knife and scissors by a 23-year-old male dietician at his residence in the Chattarpur Enclave area. The attack followed an incident where the doctor allegedly inappropriately touched the dietician during a visit to deliver a diet subscription. Police have arrested the accused in connection to the case.
As per police statements, the doctor's body was found in a room with blood scattered on the floor indicating a violent altercation. He was lying in the room with his neck deeply cut, suggesting that his throat had been slit.
