MBBS Exam Scam at Rohtak Varsity: District Administration told to expedite Probe
Haryana- On the recent "MBBS exam scam" surfaced from Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak, the district administration has asked the institute to expedite its investigation and submit a report at the earliest for prompt action on the matter.
The order came after a meeting held between Rohtak Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadagta and Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia with university officials, including Vice Chancellor Dr HK Aggarwal, at the Mini Secretariat on Thursday to discuss updates on the investigation.
Recently, a major scam of MBBS exam question papers has come to light at Pandit BD Sharma UHS, where university staff charged huge sums of money from students to help them pass a particular subject by allowing them to rewrite their answer sheets using erasable ink pens and reference from the textbook.
The alleged scam came to light after an MBBS student of a private college filed a complaint with the university authorities, revealing the racket in a recorded video. On this, as per the TribuneIndia media news report, the district police had assured the protection of the complainant. He said, "The complainant has been given phone numbers of some police personnel whom he can contact in case of any emergency or during travel”.
Along with this, the police will also independently investigate the background of the main accused. The accused include 5 people, including 2 university employees Roshan Lal and Rohit, who have already been suspended, while the services of three outsourced employees Deepak, Indu and Ritu have been terminated till the investigation.
In this regard, Medical Dialogues had already reported that a three-member fact-finding committee has been formed under the leadership of Dr MK Garg, Director, Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, the committee will begin its investigation on Friday and the accused will be summoned to present their side.
