While considering the suo-motu matter regarding the rape and murder of a PG trainee doctor at Kolkata-based RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, the Supreme Court bench comprising the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra today criticised the State Government's recent policy of avoiding to assign night duties for women doctors and limiting their working hours to 12 hours.

Delhi Govt sets up panel to recruit Junior Doctors
Panel formed by Delhi Medical Council to investigate trainee doctor’s suicide
Taking suo motu cognizance of the unfortunate death of MAMC Radiodiagnosis Medico, the Delhi Medical Council has formed a six-member committee to enquire into the matter.
The panel comprises of Delhi Medical Council's President Dr Arun Gupta as chairman, with 5 additional members including Dr Prem Aggarwal, Dr Ashwini Dalmiya, Dr Manish Kumath, Dr Anuj Mittal and Medical Council Secretary Dr Girish Tyagi.

Kolkata Medic Murder: Doctors vow to continue strike until demands are met after hours-long meeting
The protesting Junior doctors in West Benagal said they will continue their strike till all their demands are met, they also sought fresh talks with the state government. The doctors announced their decision following a five-hour governing body meeting.
The state also removed two senior health department officials, acceding to the medics’ demands.
