Violence erupts at Delhi hospital: Patient's attendant assaults on-duty doctor, hurls footwear
When the entire medical fraternity across the country has been demanding the Central Protection Act to ensure the safety of doctors at their workplace, another incident of violence against healthcare professionals took place today at Delhi-based Dr. Hedgewar Arogya Sansthan.
A female on-duty senior resident from the Medicine Department was verbally and physically assaulted by the attendant of a 67-year-old patient, who was suffering from hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disease and had a Pacemaker, came to Dr. Hedgewar Hospital, Karkardooma emergency with complaints of chest pain and shortness of breath since last three days. The patient was previously undergoing treatment at G B Pant Hospital.

NEET PG 2024: Supreme Court seeks NBE's response on last-minute exam pattern change
While considering a plea seeking measures to ensure increased transparency in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) exam, the Supreme Court today i.e. September 20 expressed displeasure over the last-minute changes in the exam pattern by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
Terming it to be "unusual", the Apex Court bench comprising CJI DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra issued notice to the NBE and Union Government, asking them to file their counter within a week.

Rajasthan administrative officer dies after hysterectomy, family alleges ‘Negligence’
Doctors at a private hospital in Jodhpur have been accused of medical negligence by the family of 33-year-old Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer Priyanka Bishnoi after she died in the hospital while undergoing treatment for 13 days following an alleged botched hysterectomy. The district administration has ordered a probe in this regard.
Priyanka Bishnoi had undergone a hysterectomy at a private hospital in Jodhpur on September 5, after she complained of abdominal pain and the doctors diagnosed a lump in her uterus. However, on September 6, her condition deteriorated and her family took her to a hospital in Ahmedabad the next day. Bishnoi was under treatment in Ahmedabad for 13 days but unfortunately died on Wednesday late at night.

Protesting junior doctors to end sit-in, resume emergency services starting September 21
Protesting junior doctors in West Bengal have announced they will ''partially'' lift their 'cease work' and resume duties in emergency and essential services at state-run hospitals starting Saturday, following the West Bengal government's acceptance of most of their demands.
The medics, who have been on strike for 41 days in response to the rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, will also end their sit-in outside Swasthya Bhawan on Friday.

CBI reveals 'NEET paper solved by AIIMS, RIMS students on exam day' in 2nd chargesheet
In the latest update on the NEET UG paper leak, the Crime Investigation Bureau (CBI), investigating the alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam has filed its second chargesheet naming six accused in connection along with a shocking revelation.
The agency investigation has revealed that the principal and vice principal of the Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, allegedly conspired with others to steal the NEET-UG 2024 question paper.
