NMC Releases 2025–26 Seat Matrix, Total PG Medical Seats Reach 58,331
Due to the National Medical Commission (NMC) approval for the inclusion of additional postgraduate medical seats to the existing seat matrix, a total of 8416 PG medical seats have been added during the academic year 2025-2026.
Therefore, while during the academic year 2024-2025, there were only 49915 PG medical seats available for aspirants, with the addition of these new seats, a total of 58331 PG medical seats are now available during 2025-2026.

NEET PG Round 3 Counselling Schedule Out for Rajasthan PG Admissions
The State NEET PG counselling board has started the registration process for the Rajasthan NEET PG Round 3 admissions process for the academic year 2025-26, following changes in the qualifying percentile for all categories.
Therefore, candidates can apply for Round 3 admissions on the official Rajasthan NEET PG website until January 29.

Train Delay Causes NEET Aspirant To Miss Exam; Railways Fined Rs 9.1 Lakh
In a recent judgment, the District Consumer Court has slapped Rs 9,10,000 compensation on the railways after a medical aspirant filed a case and claimed that she missed her opportunity to appear in the National Eligibility Entrance Test, NEET, exam due to the delayed arrival of the Intercity Superfast Train.
After finding her allegations to be true, the Consumer Forum imposed a heavy fine of Rs 9,10,000 on the railways, ETV Bharat has reported.

Consumer Court Issues Notice in Rs 13 Crore Medical Negligence Case Over Child’s Death
Filing a complaint before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC), Kolkata South, the father of a 12-year-old child, who died after being left unattended for 15 hours while suffering from gastric perforation, has accused Woodlands Hospital, Kolkata, of medical negligence.
Admitting the complaint claiming Rs 13 crore as compensation, the District Consumer Court has issued notice against Woodlands Hospital, and also sought medical opinion from a medical board set up by the Superintendent of SSKM Hospital by 27.03.2026.
