33 of 43 Super Speciality Seats Remain Vacant in Tamil Nadu After Counselling
As many as 33 of the 43 super speciality postgraduate medical seats reserved exclusively for in-service doctors in Tamil Nadu have remained vacant even after the qualifying cutoff was reduced for the special stray vacancy round.
Last week, the Selection Committee released the details of the 43 vacant seats and conducted the special stray vacancy round online on Saturday and Sunday.

Adults Can Nominate Queer Partners for Medical Decisions: Centre Tells Delhi HC
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have informed the Delhi High Court that a competent adult should be permitted to nominate their partner, including a partner in a non-heterosexual or queer relationship, to take healthcare decisions on their behalf if they subsequently become incapacitated.
The submission, made before Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma’s bench, is in the ongoing proceedings in a case which raise the issue of recognising non-heterosexual partners as medical representatives for consent and healthcare decisions.

FMG Stipend Protest in Rajasthan- FIR Against 35 Interns: Report
Police officials have reportedly filed an FIR against around 35 Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) interns who have been protesting the non-payment of their stipend during the mandatory Compulsory Rotatory Medical Internship (CRMI), Times Now has reported.
As per sources, till now police have not disclosed the names of FMG interns named in the FIR, and no action after FIR has been taken against the FMGs yet.

Hyderabad Hospital, Neurosurgeon Ordered to Pay Rs 20 Lakh Over Spine Surgery Complications
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC), Hyderabad, recently held a city-based hospital and a consultant neurosurgeon guilty of medical negligence while conducting spinal surgery on a patient who developed complications after the procedure.
According to the case details, a tear occurred during the surgery and, allegedly, the repairs were not properly done, resulting in a persistent fluid leak from the surgical site.
