Overview
A total of 818 medical colleges across the country have gained recognition from the National Medical Commission (NMC) since its formation in 2020, the Union Minister of State for Health, Prataprao Jadhav informed the Lok Sabha.
According to the Minister, the data provided by the NMC mentioned that the number of medical colleges in the country has increased from 596 in the academic year 2021–22 to 818 at present.
