Zinc might help reduce symptoms and duration of respiratory tract infections
Zinc deficiency is responsible for 16% of all deep respiratory infections world-wide provides a first strong hint on a link of zinc deficiency with the risk of infection and severe progression of COVID-19 and suggests potential benefits of zinc supplementation.
A randomized trial by Jennifer Hunter and team revealed that Zinc might help to stave off respiratory infection symptoms and cut illness duration. Zinc deficiency in adult population was a risk factor and zinc might prevent Respiratory Tract Infections (RTIs) symptoms and shorten duration, however the comparative effectiveness of different zinc formulations and doses were unclear.

Potato consumption will not elevate cardiometabolic risk in adolescent girls, a study reports
Adolescence is a critical period for the evolution of cardiometabolic risk factors that are largely influenced by diet and lifestyle. Understanding these risk factors is essential to developing effective dietary guidance for disease prevention targeting this critical age period.
Potato consumption not associated with elevated cardiometabolic risk in adolescent girls, finds a new study. In the study consumption of up to one cup of potatoes daily by 9-17 year-old girls didn't increase risk of becoming overweight or developing high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, or impaired fasting glucose by the end of the study in late adolescence.

Pregnancy loss may increase risk of cardiovascular disease, finds study
Pregnancy loss (PL) is significantly associated with a greater cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk, according to a recent study published in the European Heart Journal.
The spontaneous loss of a woman's pregnancy before the 20th week can be both physically and emotionally painful. Miscarriage is the most common type of pregnancy loss and often occurs because the foetus isn't developing normally.

A Rare case of cerebral infarction In Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia reported
Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia is an autosomal recessive inherited disorder of steroid synthesis pathway and remains the commonest cause of primary adrenal insufficiency in the pediatric age group. It is included in the newborn metabolic screening panel and is mostly diagnosed in the early neonatal period. Cerebral infarction is in itself a rare condition in children and its coexistence with CAH is even more rare.
Dr Saugata Acharyya et al from Calcutta Medical Research Institute report a rare case of extensive cerebral infarction in a child with diagnosed Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia.
