Medical officer allegedly slapped by Woman Councillor, files police complaint
Rajkot: A medical officer attached to the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) has gone ahead and filed a police complaint against a woman councillor after she allegedly slapped and threatened him.
According to a recent report by TOI, the incident took place on October 16th when the doctor was asked to carry out fogging in a locality by the congress councillor on which the doctor informed that he would be able to do that as the fogging machine was not working.
The doctor had further informed the councillor that he would come after getting another fogging machine and carry out the task.
However, the congress worker with an unidentified person went to another locality where the doctor was carrying out fogging and allegedly slapped him. The police officials at Jamnagar A-division police station informed that she then allegedly forced the doctor into the car and took to the office of the opposition party and threatened him.
Following the alleged incident, the doctor made a representation before the Municipal Corporation's Commissioner and a day later filed a police complaint against the JMC councillor, adds TOI
Subsequently, the councillor has been booked. No arrests have been made so far.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a BJP corporator was booked for allegedly slapping a woman doctor working at Sassoon Government Hospital. Police had registered an FIR against the BJP worker. She had taken a patient to the hospital and then she assaulted the doctor who was on duty when the preference was not given to her patient's treatment. As reported, the patient was given the first aid and the doctor on duty told her that further treatment would be decided after the arrival of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) report.
