The NHA and Ayushman Bharat CEO Indu Bhushan urged the healthcare service providers to join the revolution in “spirit and deed”, and said, “I call upon each one of you to partner with the mission through the empanelment process initiated today to enhance the accessibility.”

Bhushan explained the main aim of the policy which is to improve access for the most vulnerable, unreached sections of the population and holistically address healthcare by covering prevention, promotion and ambulatory care at primary, secondary and tertiary levels.

While addressing the media, Bhushan requested the governments of all states and Union Territories to help Modicare) in garnering the support of hospitals and healthcare providers across the country for the path-breaking mission.

Following the announcement today, the State Health Agencies (SHA) through State Empanelment Committees (SEC) will start empanelling private and public health care service providers and facilities in states and union territories as per the given guidelines.

Workshops will be held to brief on empanelment criteria, packages, processes and queries at the district and block level. Following the workshops, hospitals interested to get empanelled can do so by visiting the webportal, www.abnhpm.gov.in , where complete details of the process can be accessed.

The SHA’s are instructed to ensure empanelment within the stipulated timelines for quick implementation of the scheme if the applicants meet the essential criteria as defined for general or speciality care facilities.

Dinesh Arora, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Ayushman Bharat said, “The mission provides financial protection to 10.74 crores deprived rural families and identified occupational categories of urban workers’ families as per the latest Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data. It provides a cover for cashless hospitalization services of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year.”

Facilities undertaking defined specialty packages will be required to satisfy additional requirements.

Specific criteria are outlined for cardiology and cardiothoracic vascular services, cancer care, neurosurgery, burns, plastic and reconstructive surgery, neonatal/paediatric surgery, polytrauma, nephrology and urology surgery, adds IANS.

  1. please boycott this nuisance.
If someone joins it we must boycott them as well as these charges are humiliating and not sustainable at any cost

  2. Consumer court has penalised intensivist from Mumbai for not using Ultrasound for pleural tap which was done 16 yrs back. Penalty was 41 lacs. Modicare wants to perform C section in 9000 RS. What kind of joke it is. Just an attempt to make public chutiya.

  3. Primary Health care and Primary Education are the pillars of Health and Education respectively. Hope small clinics with experienced doctors say with 35 to 40 years in the medical field, Ex Army/defense doctors will find a suitable place in this prestigious and pathbreaking Health Mission of India. It would be a win-win situation if skill and service are given due priority. Jai ho, MODICARE!!!
