New Delhi: Strike Continues at MCD hospitals
New Delhi: Strike of doctors associated with Municipal Corporation of Delhi and its associated hospitals and dispensaries continued for a second day today as the authorities are still mum on their salary issues.
Employees of MCD including medical employees such as doctors, nurses, paramedics as well as others, none have been paid any salaries for the past three months, and failing any response from the senior authorities on the issue of salaries, have declared a lockdown at all MCD hospitals as well as dispensaries. This medical staff is a part of a larger union of around 15000 MCD employees who also have not been paid salaries for the past three months.
Speaking to Medial Dialogues, Dr Aditya Gupta informed, " We went to the MCD civic centre to get some answers today on the issue of salaries. Unfortunately, our plight is such, that even the civic centre was empty today with even the senior staff being on a strike. We have received no communication either from the MCD or Delhi government in this regard. Our indefinite strike will continue till we get our dues. Â "
