Newborn goes missing from govt hospital in Rajasthan
Jaipur: A newborn was allegedly stolen from a government hospital in Karauli district, following which his family members protested, even as a police case has been lodged following a complaint by the baby boy’s mother.
Karauli police has registered a case under IPC sections 363 (Punishment for kidnapping) and 406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust) against four from the nursing staff following a complaint by newborn’s mother.
She has alleged that Samay Singh Meena, Vinita Meena, Lakshmi Devi and Suraj Devi are involved in the act.
Varsha had delivered a baby boy on February 5. The newborn was then admitted to newborn care unit on February 8.
When family members did not find the baby in the unit, they complained to hospital administration and lodged a protest, SHO Karauli police station, Devendra Jakhar told PTI.
There are CCTV cameras installed in the hospital and we are trying to trace the accused involved, Jakhar said, adding further investigation is on.
