Delhi Govt Sets Up Online Portal for Proper Distribution, Supply of Remdesivir
New Delhi: Amidst various news regarding the black-marketing of Remdesivir injection, the Delhi Government, through a recent order, has informed setting up a portal to ensure proper distribution and supply of Remdesivir Injection.
This step by the State Government has been taken in compliance with the earlier directions by the High Court of Delhi.
Following this, all the concerned authorities associated with the supply and distribution process of Remdesivir will have to update their data on the portal fashioned by Delhi Government.
"The said Portal is available onsite having URL: https://cfwcst.delhi.gov.in/DHB/Login.aspx and is now operational," mentioned the order dated 03.05.2021.
The order issued by the Drugs Control Department of Govt. of NCT of Delhi stated, "As per the directions of Hon'ble High Court of Delhi, the Delhi Government has developed a portal for proper distribution and supply of Remdesivir Injection across all CFAs/Stockists/Distributors/Hospitals for their needy patients."
"All the CFAs/Stockists/Distributors dealing with Remdesivir Injection have to update their data on the said portal on daily basis with immediate effect. User ID & Password to all the CFAs/Stockists/Distributors have already been forwarded by NIC," it further added.
"All the stakeholders are requested to make their request through the said portal using their already issued ID and Password. The above information is to be added on priority," the order further added.
A copy of the order has been sent to the Director-General of Health Services, All CFA's in Delhi, All Stockists/Distributors in Delhi, Medical Superintendents to all Govt. /Private Hospitals in Delhi, All ADCs/D1s, Drugs Control Department of Delhi.
As per the recent media report by Live Law, this development on the part of the government has come after a single bench of Delhi High Court comprising of Justice Pratibha Singh, via order dated 28.04.2021 gave directions that instead of routing all the drugs through other hospitals or medical establishments, a portal should be fashioned where the patient or family members of a patient may put in a request for obtaining the Remdesivir injections.
The demand for Remdesivir is growing with the rapid surge of Covid-19 patients in the country. The Medical Dialogues had recently reported that amidst the growing demands and black-marketing of the antiviral drug Remdesivir, the Central Government informed the Supreme Court recently that the drug should be administered only after a medical prescription and its usage should be limited to severe condition of Covid-19 patients strictly in compliance with the medical protocol.
