New Delhi: For the ongoing Mop Up Round of NEET SS counselling 2021 being conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee, MCC under DGHS, a total of 1,030 seats are up for grabs – 612 DM and MCh seats in 28 specialities and 418 DNB SS seats in 20 specialities including the 92 DM, MCh seats in 14 specialities at Tamil Nadu based medical institutes.

The confirmation of this aggregate comes from the recently released seat matrix on the official website of the MCC indicating the number of DM, MCh and DrDNB seats in various super specialisations being offered for the NEET SS Counselling mop-up round as per the categories available in medical institutes across the country.

These 1,030 seats were left vacant after the conclusion of the first and second rounds of counselling. According to the schedule, earlier released by the MCC, the registration and choice filling for the Mop Up Round of NEET SS counselling are in progress.

The MCC has earlier informed that a writ petition was filed before the Hon'ble Supreme Court and whilst adjudicating the matter, the top court had directed the State of Tamil Nadu to conduct counselling for 50% seats implementing in-service reservation. MCC, DGHS has conducted online counselling for 50% of seats surrendered by the State of Tamil Nadu.

As per the directions of the Supreme Court, a Mop-up round for the remaining seats in addition to 92 SS seats surrendered by the State of Tamil Nadu will be conducted by MCC as well.

The following tables summarise the speciality wise breakup of the MCC NEET SS Counselling mop-up round seat matrix for DM, MCh and DNB SS programmes:
